Bugga-Lee, The American Foxhound at 1 year old

On my 12th birthday my dad came home from work carrying a big cage and in the cage was a brown, black and white dog. To my surprise the dog was mine. My dad presented the dog to me and gave me a big hug wishing me a happy 12th birthday. I was ECSTATIC!

I immediately named the dog Bugga-Lee and quickly found out that the dog breed was American Foxhound. The American Foxhound is a bread of dog that is cousin to the English Foxhound. They are scent hounds, bread to hunt foxes by scent. My dog Bugga-Lee was sweet, affectionate, gently and loving.

After doing some research about my dog's bread, I found out that the American Foxhounds are excellent with children and get along well with other dogs. They are very energetic and tireless; it is very important that they get daily vigorous exercise. They are a fearly healthy bread, and are free of many genetic diseases such as hip and bones problems, which plague other large breads.
