Adding a hyperlink to another website in your web page

Adding a hyperlink to another website is simple:

  1. Get the web address (URL) of the website.

  2. Add the <A HREF> HTML tag to your web page.

  3. The basic <A HREF> HTML tag is:
    <A HREF=""></A>

  4. Add the web address of the website in-between the double quotes in the <A HREF> HTML tag in your weg page.
    Make sure the web address has
    http://
    at the beginning of the web address.

  5. Add the text for the hyperlink between the <A HREF=""> and </A> in the <A HREF> HTML tag in your weg page.


For example, assume you want to add a link to CUNY's website to one of your web pages.

  1. The web address of CUNY's website is:
    http://www.cuny.edu

  2. Assume the text of the hyperlink will be:
    The website of CUNY

  3. The <A HREF> HTML tag in the web page will be:
    <A HREF="http://www.cuny.edu">The website of CUNY</A>

  4. The hyperlink in the web page will look like:
    The website of CUNY
