Logging onto Your UNIX Account (Macintosh)

  1. Launch the Cyberduck program.

  2. Click Open Connection.

  3. Click the pop-up menu button at the top of the Open Connection window to select SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol), if necessary.
    Type cs12.cs.qc.cuny.edu in the textbox labeled Server:.
    (If the server cs12.cs.qc.cuny.edu is unknown, try using 149.4.211.95 as the server instead.)
    Type your UNIX account username in the textbox labeled User name:.
    Type your UNIX account password in the textbox labeled Password:.
    Click the Connect button.

  4. If an Unknown Host Key window appears, click the check box to place a check mark for Always and then click the Allow button.

  5. Assuming you typed the host name, your username and your password correctly, you should be logged into your UNIX account. Your screen should display a window like the window below except some of the text inside your window will differ from the text inside the window below.

  6. If you mistyped the host name, your username, or your password then you'll have to start back at step 1 above.


Logging off Your UNIX Account (Macintosh)

Remember: Always logout when you are finished using your UNIX account.

To logout of your UNIX account, click the Disconnect button. Then, quit Cyberduck.
